Day 1: Arrival at the Kigali International Airport

When you arrive at Kigali International Airport, our attentive team from Activentures A frica Safaris will be there to welcome you and help with customs procedures.

From there, we'll take you to your hotel in Kigali. Take advantage of the hotel's amenities and enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at Hotel 2000."

Day 2: Transfer to Akagera National Park

After breakfast at the hotel, proceed with check-out and transfer to Akagera National Park, renowned for hosting the Big 5. Along the journey, soak in the picturesque landscapes and rolling hills of Rwanda.

Enjoy an en-route game drive, offering stunning vistas as you make your way to the lodge. Keep your eyes peeled for elephants, giraffes, and lions among other wildlife sightings.

Upon arrival at the lodge, complete the check-in process, savor a delicious lunch, and take some time to unwind.

Spend the afternoon at your leisure, indulging in the amenities offered by the lodge. As evening approaches, embark on an exhilarating night game drive, offering a unique opportunity to witness wildlife in their nocturnal habitat.

This experience presents the chance to encounter elusive nocturnal species not easily spotted during daylight hours. Conclude the evening with a return to the lodge.

Day 3: Akagera National Park Experiences

Akagera is renowned as one of the most picturesque savannahs in East Africa.

Following breakfast, prepare your packed lunch and head out to explore the southern giraffe area and the lakeside road leading towards Birengero.

Akagera National Park boasts a diverse array of wildlife, including elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and more.

Take a break at the picnic area to enjoy your lunch.

Next, embark on a scenic boat cruise on Lake Ihema, where you'll be treated to sightings of numerous hippos and a variety of bird species.

As you journey back to Kigali, soak in the breathtaking sunset and picturesque landscapes, ideal for capturing memorable photographs.

Upon arrival at the hotel, unwind and enjoy a relaxing evening, complete with dinner and an overnight stay at Hotel 2000.

Day 4: Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

After breakfast at the hotel, commence your exploration with a city tour of Kigali.

Your itinerary includes a poignant visit to the Genocide Memorial Center, a vibrant stroll through the local markets in Kimironko, and a glimpse into the daily lives of Rwandan locals, who greet you with warm smiles.

Continuing southward, your journey to Nyungwe National Park features a stop at the historic King’s Palace in Nyanza, where you'll also indulge in a satisfying lunch.

As you venture southwest, marvel at the stunning terraced hillsides that define Rwanda's scenic landscape.

Upon reaching your accommodation, check-in and take advantage of the property's amenities. Spend the evening at your leisure, unwinding at the lodge until dinner.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk Adventure

Today begins with an early breakfast at your lodge, followed by an exhilarating hike in pursuit of chimpanzee communities.

Nyungwe National Park is home to an estimated 400 to 500 Rwandan chimpanzees, with a smaller group residing in Cyamudongo Forest.

Be prepared to listen for the distinct calls of these fascinating primates echoing through the dense forest before catching sight of them.

As you trek, keep an eye out for migratory bird species such as Ross’s turaco, grey-cheeked hornbill, red-breasted sparrow hawk, and regal sunbird.

After returning to the hotel for lunch, the afternoon brings an exciting canopy walk adventure, offering a unique perspective of the forest canopy.

Unwind and take advantage of the lodge amenities before enjoying a relaxing evening until dinner.

Day 6: Tea Plantation Experience and Departure

On this day, you will enjoy an early breakfast at your lodge before embarking on the tea plantation experience where you will engage with the local people.

After this adventure, proceed to the hotel for check-out and drive back to Kigali.

You have time to do quick souvenir shopping before your departure.
